Cocaine Blues By Dubem O Moghalu

I’d like to tell you a tale; our tale
A sad little story of boys and girls
Who became men and women and died
A story of adventures and experiments
That became addictions and took our souls
Of cocaine and champagne; poppers and weed
Of naked strangers and little children
Of pregnant girls and absent fathers

I’d like to tell you a tale; our tale
A sad little story of a lost generation
Of the nights we spent and the days we lost
The dreams we had and the hopes we killed
A story of loss and betrayal and despair
I’d like to tell you a story of our infatuation
I’ll wish for the story to be long and sad
So I can tell it through the night and day

Many things I’d like to say
Many stories I’d like to tell
But how can I tell my story
When even I can’t remember. ....

Nana

Shining Light
My life's full of ups and downs....
A lot of negativity and frustrations
They've been a lot of good times dow
Meeting u is definitely one....
Thru the darkness and pain
Amid streams of frustrations
Comes a really bright light..
One which teaches me
To stay positive, live with no fear and keep moving....Nana

About a girl....

She was grace in name and in essence
To those she loved she exuded strength
Life,laughter and light,
But to me sorrow because no matter how hard I tried I couldn't keep her away from the bright lights of city and lure of men
She caused me a lot of pain....
The thought of loosing her killed me
But then every time we were together, all the pain & worry disappeared
It's was replaced by joy serenity and ecstasy....
Nothing from the first day I saw her and no one that has happened to me since,
Has ever been as frightening and as confusing.
For no person I've ever known has ever done more to make me feel more assured, insecure, happy, sad, thankful, excited, important and very significant...
You're best thing that ever happened to me, and for that I'm thankful.

Escape From Poverty

When u escape the
Brutal and harsh state
Of poverty....
It's gives u a deep and
Insightful appreciation
Of what people who
Are suffering from
Lack of resources
Are going thru.....
Arrogance and ignorance on
Your part will do u no good...
They should be embraced..
And taken care of
Do your little part to make a difference in the world....
If u turn your back on people
Who u once were very
Much a part of
You would do well to be
Reminded of it's barbarous cruelty...(Poverty)
Turning your back on people that need u
Is inexcusable...
Poverty is a disease,a tragedy....an unexplainable....and harsh feeling....it's a worrying and depressing reality....
People often say I wish I can help
I wish I can make a difference
Well u can....
The little u do goes a really long way
The demise of poverty starts wiv u....

Death Doesn't Vindicate

Abraham Lincoln and John F Kennedy there deaths are seen as a symbol of freedom and peace something the united states look up to....but the truth is death doesn't vindicate...it may have been good for the country but it wasn't for lincoln and kennedy....if u have a chance to ask Abraham or John if they like been shot in the head they'll probably say no.....the tragic truth is they were robbed of their futures....and the possibilities that lay within it...their lives will never be replaced....if they could achieve so much within such a short period of time imagine how much they would have been able to achieve if their lives weren't taken away from them....Death doesn't vindicate!!!! Another example is martin luther king jr.....he was shot, his death symbolizes freedom, peace and beginning of a new era for black americans and in some ways the other minorities in the states,he's death is celebrated,he is seen as a hero but his death was tragic.....imagine what he would have gone on to achieve if he had lived longer.....my mom views this whole thing differently she believes it's better to live a short and fulfilled life which will impact and change peoples lives....than to live a long and empty one she cites Jesus christ as an example. Fair enough. But this people, heroes if u like, mentioned above, dint live empty lives they impacted knowledge on people and radically changed a lot of people's lives, while they were still alive.....imagine what they would and could have gone on to achieve. To be honest I think death is an easy way out....if u live a short and fulfilled life and get killed u r celebrated and called a hero......the question here is what if u don't die....what if u live on, would u have continued in the same way. The truth's people change, most people stop when they no longer have any motivation most people are driven by specific needs.....when they get it or even close to it they stop!..... Nelson Mandela is a hero.......and also a prime example of why death doesn't vindicate.....he is alive to see everything he labored for......if he was killed he would have been celebrated as a hero but he couldn't have done as much for south africa as he has done now......death doesn't vindicate......my aunty died 2 years ago.....she is celebrated by her friends and family but the harsh reality is,she left seven children behind with a dead beat husband....she worked her whole life for those kids.....the last one is in her 3rd year in college.....Death doesn't vindicate!....
By Joseph O. Aghedo......inspiration gotten from the movie "Twelve".
